Blacksburg area families remain fond of their full-size Chevy Tahoe SUVs. The Tahoe provides plenty of comfortable room for passengers and cargo alike. Ideal for carpool and family vacations, the latest Tahoe has undergone some changes to make them even more convenient and versatile.

Performance

The Tahoe models available at Harvey's come with a choice of 5.3-liter, 6.2-liter, or a Duramax® turbo-diesel 3.0-liter engine. Each of the engines comes matched to the same smooth-shifting 10-speed automatic transmission. New owners may select models that have rear-wheel or 4WD. The 2021 Tahoe can haul 8,200 to 8,400 pounds when properly equipped.

Chevy recently added the 3.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine to the available powertrain options. The six-cylinder turbo-diesel cranks out an impressive 460 pound-feet of torque.

Chevrolet also improved the vehicle's structure. The rear suspension now functions independently, which better enables the SUV to tackle difficult terrain from Christiansburg to Salem, VA.

Technological Upgrades

The infotainment system gains a 10.2-inch touchscreen. The system includes a premium nine-speaker Bose stereo and the ability to wirelessly link with smartphones. Drivers get a 4.2-inch digital display between the traditional gauges. The display provides additional vehicle information in addition to illuminating safety feature icons when each are activated.

Trim Level Addition

The Tahoe Z71 was added to the trim level lineup and is specially designed for back road adventures. The vehicle rides on 20-inch alloy wheels with all-terrain tires. The Z71 is a 4WD SUV and has a two-speed transfer case. The grille, side steps, and roof rails are black, accented by red tow hooks.
