Used cars can sometimes get a bad rap. They have many great benefits to them, such as lower costs and long-lasting reliability, but everyone has heard a story or two about the proverbial lemon. If you're worried about getting stuck with an old junker, you might want to avoid the third-party sellers and head to a dealership to check out their inventory of used vehicles.
Â
CPO vehicles aren't your typical used cars. CPO stands for "certified pre-owned," and it means exactly what it sounds like; these vehicles have been certified by the manufacturer. At Chevrolet, all used vehicles turned back into the dealership are subjected to an Inspection and a Reconditioning Process that involves a rigorous inspection, which looks at the fine details of the body, engine, and chassis. Any imperfections are then corrected, and if the vehicle passes the test, it's certified and put back onto the lot. The downside to Certified Pre-Owned for some customers is the cost. Having that Certified title usually implies a higher price.
CPO vehicles do come with a number of benefits for that higher price, including warranties and amenities like scheduled maintenance, roadside assistance, courtesy transportation, and a Vehicle History Report. Everything about the GM CPO program revolves around making the customer feel secure in their purchase of a pre-owned vehicle. If a breakdown ever does occur, you can easily be assisted with your vehicle and even exchange it for a different one through the exchange program. Â
